When The Alpina opened in 2012, it was the first grand hotel built in Gstaad in a century — and it chose its ground carefully: the Oberbort hillside, above the village, looking across the valley to the Palace's turrets. Guests who stay there tend to arrive with a plan that begins at the spa. Our job is to make sure nothing before that moment requires effort.

From Geneva Airport the drive takes about 2 hours 15 minutes along the lake and up through the Pays-d'Enhaut; from Zurich, about 2 hours 45 through the Simmental. Either way, your chauffeur meets you in the arrivals hall with a name board, handles every bag, and takes the final climb up Alpinastrasse to the hotel forecourt — where the doormen take over and the journey officially ends. One handover, zero friction, and the Six Senses Spa an elevator ride away.

The Alpina's private residences bring a different rhythm: guests who settle in for weeks rather than nights, with school runs, ski mornings and dinner bookings across the valley. Leaving is planned as carefully as arriving: pickups from the forecourt with margin built in for winter roads, so an early flight out of Geneva or Zurich starts calmly with coffee rather than a stopwatch. Round trips booked together earn a preferred rate — mention both legs when you request your quote.
